WTF! Welcome to Franklin! Started as a running joke between my husband and me.

What we have always known as our sleepy little historic town has suddenly become a popular tourist destination.

"Why??" We would ask – what’s so special about this place that now inspires people to choose to come to Franklin Tennessee for vacation? WTF?

​

As we see more and more couples and families from all over the country walking up and down Main Street, rain or shine, laughing – holding hands – listening to the street musicians – shopping the local stores – we are surprised and delighted...

​

The hard part, we watched Earl’s Fruit Stand and Dotson’s Restaurant give way to a huge brick office building blocking our view of the river. We witnessed entire blocks of downtown as they gave way to a high-end mixed-used

development, people honking and trying to parallel park (WTF), local restaurants that went from ‘come on in and have a seat’ to 2 weeks out for reservations. Wifi brown outs due to excessive cell phone usage during downtown festivals and events.

And still, somehow, Franklin maintains its small town, historic, friendly, bless-your-heart personality.  It is the one thing that hasn't changed.
